Fuori orario. Il tempo docente nella didattica online

Abstract
Questo lavoro riporta i risultati di una ricerca relativa alla problematica del tempo docente
nella didattica online. Lo studio, basato su un approccio qualitativo che ha combinato l’etnografia
digitale con l’analisi tematica e di contenuto, è consistito nell’analisi delle comunicazioni online tra
docenti ed esperti del settore, di varie nazionalità, attivi all’interno di diversi gruppi presenti nel network
professionale LinkedIn. L’analisi del contenuto delle conversazioni ha permesso agli autori di evidenziare
che: a) i docenti universitari che svolgono didattica online, in particolare se costruttivista e collaborativa,
percepiscono il proprio impegno come molto importante e segnalano che spesso tale impegno è assolto al
di fuori del consueto orario di lavoro; b) la motivazione intrinseca risulta fondamentale nella continuità
di questo tipo di esperienza; c) la mancanza di riconoscimento istituzionale crea situazioni di grande
frustrazione; d) la consapevolezza relativa alle problematiche che il tema pone sembra essere scarsa sia a
livello di governance accademica che di corpo docente.
